Awww, don't feel so bad. Learning to resist that first impulse and wait until you are more calm is very difficult. If I had been on the board when I was younger, I would have been kicked off by now. I was quick to anger and did not learn how to put my thoughts in a "soaking drawer" until my early 30's.

Noone really takes those ratings seriously anyway. I think everyone should stop accepting ratings, it's not a popularity contest and besides, some people just enjoy going around giving others low ratings for no reason.

Actually I find it kind of funny that people actually vote - I wonder why they have it.

I have lived long enough to know that not everyone gets along and if someone doesn't like me, it is no skin off of my nose.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over it )

You are sweet to feel sorry.

I admit.. I have posted one negative, but I do not regret that one.

This is EXACTLY why I hate the rating system.I turned mine off.

When I first came here, I did not even say anything rude or mean, and yet I had 2 stars. I instantly felt like an outcast. I thought is was incredibly rude that people would judge me so harshly based on a friendly introduction post.

Now that I feel like I know the group better, I know it is possible my rating was mostly from a passer-by or two because no one here seems petty like that.I love all of our regulars here. But even the newest of "members" can rate just to rate.

That said... anyone who is bothered by it can simply turn theirs off.It is a shame the feature exist IMO.

*EDITED* To say I meant no disrespect to new members, I love all of our new members too.

I love rating members! (never in a bad way) I always love it give 5 stars to people I find it fun. But when I do get mad at someone...I'm tempted to do it...but then again they would probably give you bad stars back so

I only rated once and that was for 5 stars. A member PM'd me and let me know I made a blooper in my semantics with the usage of a word for the Asian race that might have been offensive. She figured I did not know what I had done. OMG, I sure did not! I mean I am AA, and you know I am very sensative reagarding this.

Anywayy...I appreciated that so much. She handled it so professionaly and with such finesse and diplomacy. I gave her an instant 5.

Sometimes I have seen posts that are "airing" things that a PM handle better after the person calms down if warranted.

If I see someone with low stars and no obvious reason for it, I'll rate them 5 stars just to be contrary.

I also like to watch my stars go up and down with the things I do and say. It amuses me that people think I care how they rate me.

hmmm...I thought there was a way to change a rating, but I looked and couldn't find a way. They should have a way to change them though.
